Because of its high energy shows and vast musical repertoire, Halfway Legal is one of the most booked bands in the San Antonio area, playing between 4 and 6 shows a week.
Halfway Legal formed in 2004 when three high school friends, David and Steven Work and Jaik Yanez got together to showcase their love of music. During the early years, the band homed their writing and playing skills, releasing their first album, Milestones. With local musician James Barclay, they released a 5 song extended play disc (EP) with the debut single, Veritas. In July 2011, Halfway Legal added powerhouse vocalist Sean Finch to their lineup.
The band has been recognized locally at the San Antonio Music Awards. They won the “2008-2009 Best New Band” award. They went on to win the top 2 awards, “2009-2010 Best Cover Band” and “2009-2010 Best Original Band”. They have played for the inaugural San Antonio Rock and Roll Marathon as well as many events at the San Antonio AT&T Center for the AHL San Antonio Rampage, WNBA San Antonio Silver Stars, NBA San Antonio Spurs, and performing with the world famous Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders. They have also been featured on local television shows, Great Day SA, KENS-5 and FOX News First, KABB.
Halfway Legal has performed with many national acts, including Rick Emmitt of Triumph, Moxy, Foghat, Steadler, Ronnie Winter of The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Rev Theory, Black Stone Cherry, Vallejo, and My Darkest Days. They have also recorded with Producer, Platinum Recording and #1 hit artist, Tantric lead singer, Hugo Ferreira.
Halfway Legal’s continuing success comes from solid support from its fans who travel extensively to see their shows.
The band is known for their hard work ethic, great sound, fantastic stage presence, and rock solid originals. There is no limit to Halfway Legal’s future in the music business.
